Running Back For More
It’s OK. I admit it. I’ve been somewhat of a slacker of late. Following the disaster that was ‘gardengate’ which put me out of action for 5 weeks before my lovely Osteopath said I was OK to go back to plodding, I then ended up working very long hours for two weeks getting lot of thing organised ready to go on location filming in a very unglamorous location for two weeks, following which I just couldn’t be bothered to plod so just sat on the sofa for a week, which means all in all I’ve not pulled on the fancy Garmin or the iPlod for ten whole weeks. As I said, Slacker!
This means I didn’t compete in the Bupa London 10000 which was my main motivation when I started plodding, although I did watch it on the telly… I know it’s not the same, but my heart was there even if my feet didn’t make it. However as promised I have signed up for a 5k in September and a 10k in October to make up for it, and will continue on in the hopes of becoming Britains Next Top Plodder.
So, to give a boost to my plodding, and to get me over my slackers hump, it is with slight trepidation that I’ve signed myself up for Juneathon III which means I can slack no more. Obviously I’ll have to put my training wheels back on, so to speak, as I’ve probably regressed so much that I’ll be back to the walk/run programme, rather than the steady plod I had just managed to achieve during my last few plods pre gardengate, but perhaps that’s a good thing… Juneathon will give me inspiration… Juneathon will give me motivation… Oh, who am I kidding, Juneathon will probably do me in! Still, it’s worth a try…
So, from tomorrow, expect a small but hopefully perfectly formed blog about the various forms of exercise I shall undertake. There will definitely be some plodding. There will certainly be some walking. There may be some cycling if I can find my puncture kit and tyre pump. There may even be the occasional sweatathon along to a Davina DVD that I was given for Christmas but have never actually popped in the DVD player. But whatever there is, there will be a blog about it.
So until then, good luck to all my fellow Juneathoners – see you on the other side…
Until the next time
xoxo
Hooray, another Juneathon plodder! How was day 1?
Happy Juneathoning!
