They Think It’s All Over… It Is Now

Pants, Pants and bigger Pants.

I’m not allowed to plod for two to three weeks while my back gets better, which sadly puts me out of the race on 25th May, as I just won’t have had time to do enough training.  Understandably I’m very upset, but on the other hand, better to wait a while, get better and then try again later, rather than push to train while injured and then end up walking like a wizened old witch from a fairytale for the rest of my life…  I visited the Osteopath yesterday as things haven’t gotten too much better since Gardengate, and as lovely as she is and as wonderful as her back cracking technique can be, this time she can’t fix me, my body has got to fix itself.

So, I’m looking out of the window at all the happy plodders in the park, all enjoying the fact that now the clocks have changed they’ve got access to the place for an extra hour in the evenings, so very much wanting to join them…  just as I’d managed to break that 25min mental block too.  Sooooo frustrating!

Still, I’ll find an event to do a little later in the year, and will continue training for the 10k…  I won’t be beaten.  Well, not by my back anyway.  I probably will be beaten by a lot of other people that can plod much faster than I…  Fingers crossed, I’ll be back after Easter…

Till the next time

xoxo

  1. Oh no! I was enjoying your blog – please don’t forget to come back. 2-3 weeks isn’t too bad, though. Just keep away from the gardening in future!

  2. Running, particularly now that I am older, brings home to me how fragile our bodies are. Take good care and look out that next race for later in the year.

    I’m running my first 10k in 23 years tomorrow…

  3. Thanks ShunningRunning. I certainly will be back as soon as possible!

Ray – Well done! Hope you don’t ache too much…
